Equine Chiropractic Care:

Chiropractic visits include a chiropractic exam and treatment. The emphasis of this treatment is to address joint restrictions, to improve biomechanics and to optimize nervous system function. Additional bodywork techniques may be utilized including myofascial release, mobilizations, and traction techniques, trigger point therapy, cross fiber friction and compression. Dr. Kyla believes that horses respond better when they are not rushed or forced. Horses respond well to her gentle, yet effective approach to chiropractic care.

Equine Bodywork:

During a bodywork session postural analysis and a biomechanical assessment are performed to identify areas of tension and/or weakness. Treatment may include techniques such as dynamic mobilizations, myofascial release, active stretching, and traction techniques. Additional massage therapy techniques may be utilized such as trigger point therapy, cross fiber friction and compression. Areas of brace or restriction as well as areas of weakness or instability are targeted with the goal of achieving a more balanced and efficiently moving horse. This in turn not only maximizes performance but also promotes efficiency of movement resulting in reduced stress and wear and tear on the body in order to promote long-term soundness. This service is especially beneficial for sensitive or reactive horses as well as those that have issues with tension and bracing.
