Equine Bodywork:

During a bodywork session postural analysis and a biomechanical assessment are performed to identify areas of tension and/or weakness. Treatment includes dynamic mobilizations, myofascial release, active stretching, and traction techniques. Additional massage therapy techniques may be utilized including such as trigger point therapy, cross fiber friction and compression. Areas of brace or restriction as well as areas of weakness or instability are targeted with the goal of achieving a more balanced and efficiently moving horse. This in turn not only maximizes performance but also promotes efficiency of movement resulting in reduced stress and wear and tear on the body in order to promote long-term soundness. This service is especially beneficial for sensitive or reactive horses as well as those that have issues with tension and/or areas of weakness. This is a “non-thrust” bodywork technique which many horses find more comfortable compared to the quick, thrust-type adjustments utilized in chiropractic care.
The initial visit typically lasts 60 mins and the cost is $155*. Any follow-up visits typically last 45 mins and the cost is $145*. Distance sessions are also available for instruction on bodywork techniques as well as groundwork and under saddle exercises using photos and videos for posture and biomechanics assessment - $75 (includes virtual assessment via photos and video, telephone consultation as well as bodywork and exercise recommendations).
